THE BOAT PEOPLE

Boaties are back - Chandeliers album tour August '08

Crisply produced and wonderfully written and arranged,

Chandeliers is superb, mature pop music, as good as anything you'll hear

in this genre this year. International recognition beckons. Ben Eltham, Mess Noise

Ornate, glittery, classy, bright and light – that's chandeliers for you.

So, let’s cut to the chase, is this a great album from The Boaties?

It’s official. The Boat People are hitting the road again in August to launch their eagerly anticipated sophomore album, Chandeliers. Recorded at 301 in Byron Bay and produced by J Walker (Machine Translations), Chandeliers has already caused a stir on the indie-pop radar with it’s 11 glittery pop diamonds.

The Boat People will be delivering their musical delights all along the East Coast
and will play Transit Bar in Canberra on Thursday 14 August, Chilli Lounge in Wyong on Friday 15 August, Spectrum in Sydney on Saturday 16 August, Brass Monkey in Cronulla on Sunday 17 August, Armidale Club in Armidale on Wednesday 20 August before playing their hometown Brisbane on Friday 22 August at The Zoo and will draw the final Chandeliers tour curtain at the East Brunswick Club in Melbourne on Saturday 30 August.

To celebrate the release of Chandeliers and the band’s first single from the album, ‘Awkward Orchid Orchard’, The Boat People are making like Oprah and have a stash of prizes up for grabs.

Many people have tried to guess all the bands in the ‘Awkward Orchid Orchard’ video clip. Some have come close, some have been way off, but no-one has found each of the 52 official clues so The Boat People have taken it up a notch by turning it into a competition with some sweet, sweet prizes.

Want to win one years subscription to E Music (360 songs), 3 runners up prizes of a 3 month subscription to E Music (90 songs) or 6 ‘Boat Packs’ of Boat People goodies? Simply watch the ‘Awkward Orchid Orchard’ video clip guess the 52 bands hidden as clues in the paper cut animation and enter the draw to win!

Don’t miss your chance to see The Boat People play live just for you when they breeze into your town in August!
