COLD CHISEL LIGHTING UP NORTHERN AUSTRALIA AND THE ARIA CHARTS
NEW TICKETS RELEASED FOR MOST SHOWS
After a snarling warm-up in Newcastle, Cold Chisel's Light The Nitro tour kicked off 'for real' last week with massive full houses in Townsville, Cairns and Darwin.
Fans and critics alike hailed these gigs as the biggest and best to ever hit town with unanimous acclaim being heaped on the band's blistering performances.
From the opening kick drum of Standing on the Outside through the sing-along classics Cheap Wine and Khe Sanh to the acoustic melancholy of When the War is Over, this is a show that doesn't disappoint. One of the many highlights has been Tim Rogers (from the tour's special guests You Am I) joining Cold Chisel onstage at some gigs for a searing version of the Circus Animals' classic, Houndog.
In an effort to combat ongoing ticket scalping activity, Cold Chisel are releasing limited numbers of new tickets to most shows in the days leading up to each concert. For indoor arena shows, these reserved tickets are all great seats so fans are urged to contact their local ticket outlets for details. There will also be a further release of new tickets available on the day at most shows which will be available from box offices and by phone only.
And to cap off this big week, the band's brand new compilation The Best of Cold Chisel - All For You debuted at # 2 on the ARIA Album charts making it the biggest Australian album in the country right now!
Dates and venues for the Light the Nitro Tour are below. The tour will be presented nationally in Australia by Triple M and Southern Cross Media, MAX and CMC and by Radio Hauraki and Brent Eccles Entertainment Ltd in New Zealand.
