COLDPLAY ANNOUNCE "VIVA LA VIDA" AUSTRALIAN TOUR
DELUXE EDITION OF ALBUM RELEASED NOVEMBER 22nd
VIVA LA COLDPLAY!
ADDITIONAL SHOWS ANNOUNCED FOR THURSDAY'S GENERAL ON-SALE!
3RD MELBOURNE, 3RD SYDNEY AND 2ND PERTH NOW ADDED
ALL SHOWS ON SALE TODAY!
It was a bold move by Chugg Entertainment to open two Coldplay shows simultaneously in each of the East Coast cities, for both the general public on-sale and the widely advertised Visa Entertainment pre-sale, but one that has paid off and given fans their best chance at tickets ever.
Following on from Sunday's announcement that a third Sydney show will be added to the two already announced for public on-sale, Promoter Michael Chugg today confirmed that additional shows would also go on sale for Melbourne and Perth.
Said Chugg, "seeing the demand during the pre-sale window, we decided that we needed to add these extra shows now... so that the fans know there will be tickets available for them tomorrow.... But I'll bet they go just as quick... so go grab your tickets fast... we can't just keep on adding shows everywhere!"
This Thursday when general tickets go on sale, the public will have the opportunity to buy from not two but three shows in Sydney and Melbourne, and two shows at Perth's Burswood Dome.
The second Perth show will take place on Saturday 28 February and the third Melbourne will take place on Thursday 5 March following the shows already announced for 3 and 4 March.
As announced over the weekend, the third Sydney concert will happen on Saturday 14 March following the shows already announced for Wednesday March 11 & Thursday March 12.
Coldplay's Viva La Vida tour will now go on sale to the general public with a total of TEN arena shows at once across Perth, Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney. The Visa Entertainment pre-sale allocation was capped in order to leave thousands of great tickets available for this general on-sale on Thursday.
The tour is set to be a memorable one for this country. Chugg Entertainment's Production Manager, Jon Pope, who recently attended several dates on the Viva La Vida tour in America, states, "This is one of the best shows I have ever seen in my 30 years of touring. The show is extraordinary, we lost count of how many different looks they achieve, and these shows will be something very special."
Said Michael Chugg "I have always been a huge fan of these boys, but the interest in this tour is just blowing me away. It's at a level I've not seen in years. We're witnessing a group at the top of it's game - fans will have to be quick when general tickets go on sale at this week".
Don't miss your chance to secure tickets when they go on sale 9am tomorrow!
Released the same weekend that the Australia tour was announced, Coldplay's Viva La Vida - Prospekt's March edition is available now - a two-disc deluxe package which includes Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends, plus a brand new EP entitled Prospekt's March; the EP is also for sale separately. Prospekt's March includes six recently-completed songs that the band had begun recording during the Viva La Vida sessions and brand new versions of two album tracks - Lost (featuring Jay-Z) and Lovers in Japan (Osaka Sun mix).

Chugg Entertainment today confirmed that Coldplay would return to Australia next February on their "Viva La Vida" tour, in support of their new album of the same name.
In a rare move for the Australian market, Coldplay will go on-sale with two shows in each of the East Coast cities to ensure as many tickets as possible are made available to meet the demand that was set the last time they toured.
The four-city jaunt will kick off on Friday 27 February at the Burswood Dome in Perth, travel to Melbourne for two shows on Tuesday 3 and Wednesday 4 March, and then move on to Brisbane at the Entertainment Centre on Sunday 8 and Monday 9 March. The tour finishes up at Sydney's Acer Arena on Wednesday 11 and Thursday 12 March.
On their last concert tour of Australia in June 2006, Coldplay sold out a total of ten arenas shows, playing to more than 100,000 people, garnering rave reviews and leaving rapturous fans in their wake.
For all shows, a special Visa Entertainment pre-sale starts at 9am local time on Thursday 27 November; tickets go on sale to the general public via Ticketek on Thursday 4 December. Ticket details are available at www.ticketek.com.au or 132 849.
In time for the anticipated tour announcement, EMI has just yesterday released Coldplay's Viva La Vida - Prospekt's March edition. The two-disc deluxe package includes Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends, the band's fourth full-length album, plus a brand new EP entitled Prospekt's March. The EP, which will also be for sale separately, includes six recently-completed songs that the band had begun recording during the Viva La Vida sessions and brand new versions of two album tracks - Lost (featuring Jay-Z) and Lovers in Japan (Osaka Sun mix). Viva La Vida was released in June 2008 and went on to chart at No. 1 in 36 countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom and Australia.
