Last Night’s Beauty Queen
Created by Rick Viede

Glace Chase is not a drag queen. He’s just very feminine. Join self professed ex-child star, peace activist and savior, Glace Chase as he expounds some profound insights about life in this hilarious one boy show, Last Night’s Beauty Queen.

Last Night’s Beauty Queen is playing various venues across Sydney from February 11 with shows playing at the Darlinghurst Theatre from February 11 to March 6, Mardi Gras Festival Bar on February 23 and Riverside Theatres on March 16 and 17.

Glace Chase is synonymous with the term "world healing". From a star studded debut at the age of seven in the sitcom Boy Knows How to Do It, Chase has consistently charmed, coddled and scolded the public into making a difference. Chase has actively campaigned for starving children dying of AIDS in Africa, performed for the troops in Iraq and personally championed Amy Winehouse's attempts at rehab (with middling success).

Chase has an innate ability to instantly identify people’s problems and fix them with the stories of his own life, in the way that only a minor celebrity can. He sings acceptance into the hearts and minds of all who hear him. His hit songs include (I’m so) Paedolicious, Zebra Crossings (Give Way to My Heart) and his seminal anthem Like an Apple in Your Hand (This World You Cannot Waste). Chase has been seen throughout Australia in his live show I am Glace Chase, which has played several successful seasons at Belvoir Street Theatre, Melbourne Comedy Festival (Town Hall), Feast Festival, Will & Tobys, The Butterfly Club, and appeared in a sell-out New York performance at the Public Theatre.

Director Christopher Hurrell said “Glace has been hard at work (for at least an hour a day!) honing his special wisdom, and belting out his songs of (self) love. We’re packaging it all into 60 minutes of unique entertainment. As Glace said to me the other day “All I want to do is change peoples’ lives. FOREVER. Is that too much to ask?”

Rick Viede is an Award winning playwright. He wrote Whore which played at Belvoir and is currently under commission with the Bell Shakespeare Company and Griffin Theatre Company. Viede has had Whore produced in New York City, and recently received a fellowship from the Australia Council.

“If Paris Hilton had been born to hippie parents… She would resemble performer Glace Chase”.
