Million Dollar Sex Party

August 9th 2008 04:01
X & Hell might be accomplished musical veterans but they are back with fire in their eyes and a whole new idea of what a party should sound like. If “change of direction” was illegal, the new project for ARIA nominated group Weapon X & Ken Hell (Sneakerpimpin' Ain't Easy) has just landed them seven successive back-to-back life sentences.

This new venture has seen the group combine forces with super-producer and friend Styalz Fuego (Sneaky Sound System, Chamillionaire), whose collective experimentation and vision over the course of the last year has substantiated into a musical departure of extraordinary proportions. Not only have X & Hell broken the mould, they have travelled back through time to assassinate the man who invented the mould.

Genres have been axe-kicked, put in a juicer, set up on blind dates and chemically infused – and the end product is something truly spectacular. Nobody, including the group, expected the result of eight months in the lab to be slick, face-pounding, electro Frankenstein that is soon to be unleashed on the world. Take one part Chromeo, a splash of Timbaland and a little Andre 3000 and you might start to get an idea of what is going to ignite your eardrums in just a few weeks time.

The first single from the new album, Don't Stop Movin, is due out July 28th through Illusive Sounds/Solid State Recordings. The track features a bassline so crushing that it’s banned in several South American countries, and an addictive hook that locks it in as the early front-runner for this summer's party anthem.

X & Hell's new album, the ironically titled Million Dollar Sex Party, is going to make small children cry when it drops on August 30th. Even if you expect the unexpected you are destined to be disappointed when you realise that your unexpected wasn't unexpected enough. Just expect it to be the best thing that you've ever heard, in the history of hearing best things. Got it?
