THE WHARF SESSIONS
PASSENGER
FRIDAY 21 JANUARY 2011
AT 10PM (APPROX START)
FREE POST-SHOW LIVE MUSIC AT THE WHARF
Venue: The Wharf, Sydney Theatre Company
Date: Friday 21 January 2011
Time: Starts approx 10pm
Tickets: No bookings necessary
On Friday 21 January, The Wharf Sessions kicks off for 2011 when Sydney Theatre Company welcomes Passenger the brainchild of UK born singer/songwriter Mike Rosenberg.
Cut from the same mould as Van Morrison and Neil Young, Passenger’s latest album Flight of the Crow features collaborations with a greatly diverse set of contemporary Australian musicians such as Lior, Josh Pyke, Katie Noonan and Kate Miller Heidke. With the deepest respect, these are the kook crazy music set who are more artists than pop-stars... love their talent. KMH and KN are very nice. The lads are all cool as well, although I have yet to warm to Lior myself. I like the music but don't quite get the artists yet.
The Wharf Sessions are Sydney Theatre Company’s regular series of free post-show gigs at The Wharf. Previous Wharf Sessions artists have included Bertie Blackman, The Paper Scissors, Cloud Control, Red Riders and Bridezilla. This is one for the Hardup brigade in Sydney. There you are, no money but a little spirit and the feeling for something out of the usual. Pop down via the train to the quay and take the nice walk to The Wharf for some free music..
Entry to the gig is free and available to all. No booking necessary. Drinks and snacks will be available at the bar
