THE WIGGLES
MAKE IT FOUR IN A ROW
BREAKING THEIR OWN ARIA RECORD

The Wiggles & Leo Sayer

YOU MAKE ME FEEL LIKE DANCING BEST AUSTRALIAN CHILDREN’S RELEASE

The Wiggles won their 7th ARIA Award in the category BEST AUSTRALIAN CHILDREN’S RELEASE with their album YOU MAKE ME FEEL LIKE DANCING.

The Wiggles have won more ARIA Awards in the same category than any other artist in the 22nd history of ARIA Awards. The Wiggles also won an Outstanding Achievement Award IN 2004 for their international success .

While the awards were being held in Sydney, The Wiggles, Anthony Field, Jeff Fatt, Murray Cook and Sam Moran were on their way to America for a 5 week tour of the East Coast. They will return to Australia in December starting their national YOU MAKE ME FEEL LIKE DANCING Big Show in Perth on December 3 and finishing with 6 shows at the Sydney Entertainment Centre from December 20.

The Wiggles are one of Australia’s hardest working groups – this year they have toured Australia twice, the USA three times and the UK once. By the end of December they will have performed to over 1 million fans this year alone!

Kaiser Chiefs' new album (LINK)

August 26th 2008 00:54
Kaiser Chiefs confirm details of their new album and join the growing roster at Liberator Music.

So, a mere eighteen months since the release of their second album Yours Truly, Angry Mob, which saw Leeds' Kaiser Chiefs have the best selling UK rock album of last year, they are set to unleash their third long-player. The album entitled Off With Their Heads is slated to hit the streets on October 11th and will see them release it on Liberator Music (part of The Mushroom Group) in Australia and New Zealand.

Kicking off with the somewhat incongruous Spanish Metal before launching into Never Miss A Beat the first track lifted from the album, road tested since the band's UK tour last winter is now complete with backing vocals from Lily Allen and New York Pony Club... it sees the band add to their ever bulging bag of hit singles.

Like It Too Much replete with lush orchestral arrangements from Bond & Bjork maestro David Arnold is a rousing classic Kaisers number which sits comfortably alongside the likes of album highlights You Want History and Good Days Bad Days; the latter underpinned by keyboard arrangements conjuring up New York disco morphed into Talking Heads-like brilliance, whilst in its wake creeps up the Kaiserdelic Tomato In The Rain, heralded by its hammond organ and great lyrics.

Half The Truth more than nods to the likes of XTC and comes with a contribution from UK grime artist Sway, meanwhile friend and musical ally Lily contributes backing vocals to Always Happens Like That before the psychedelic bent continues when drummer Nick Hodgson resumes vocal duties on album closer Remember You’re A Girl, sounding like a long lost John Lennon track from the mid-70's.

Off With Their Heads could/should be described as being the first proper Kaiser Chiefs' album with a solid base on which is constructed a series of tracks which come together as an altogether less frenetic and more cohesive piece of work than previous outings and is almost certainly the better for it.

Off With Their Heads produced by Mark Ronson and Eliot James at RAK and Eastcote Studios in London in the Spring of 2008 and mixed by Andy Wallace (Nirvana, LCD Soundsystem, Run DMC) at Soundtrack Studios, New York has its home at Liberator Music for Australia and New Zealand and will be readily available on CD, Ltd Edition Vinyl and digital formats on 11th October 2008.

Kaiser Chiefs release the album's first single 'Never Miss A Beat' on October 4th.

On confirmation of the deal Michael Gudinski said "This is THE album of 2008 that you need to listen to…the first single “Never Miss A Beat” is a youth anthem. The pairing of Ronson with the Kaiser Chiefs is inspired.

“There is no doubt that Kaiser Chiefs have already developed a loyal fan base in Australia and New Zealand but their new album “Off With Their Heads” is going to take them to the major league.

“We’re thrilled that the Kaiser Chiefs have signed to Liberator. They are the most important International signing the label has made since its inception and together we’re going to take both the band and the label to new heights in Australia and New Zealand.”

OFF WITH THEIR HEADS IS IN STORES OCTOBER 11 2008 THROUGH LIBERATOR MUSIC

FIRST SINGLE ‘NEVER MISS A BEAT’ AVAILABLE OCTOBER 4 2008

Daz Chandler - Daniel Kitson (LINK)

August 25th 2008 05:47

Quite a good deal of out and out fun from hostess with the mostess; I like to call her Dazzle, but really it's Daz Chandler doing her usual wonderful best interviewing a comedian notorious for being difficult to interview.

Notice he (Daniel Kitson) is delightedly streaming out all sorts of insightful insights into himself as a natural chap rather than living up to the oft uber serious reports that suggest he hates being interviewed.

Great work!!

More of Daz Chandler's work can be heard by going to the podcasts at Sydney's 2SER FM, one of the greater sized and resourced community radio stations in New South Wales, Australia.
