Expands Australian Presence
Sonicbids Marks 500 Gigs Booked in Australia this Year and Key Acquisition to Offer More Capabilities to its Members
Sonicbids, the website that helps bands discover and book gigs, announced in July an expanded growth in Australia with more than 500 gigs booked in 2010 and 30 new partnerships, including Australasian World Music Expo, Caloundra Music Festival, Big Sound, Groovin The Moo (Perth), Soundscape, and Tamworth Country Music Festival (Atrium Venue).
Sonicbids is focused on empowering independent musicians to build sustainable music careers. To date, more than 245,000 bands use Sonicbids to book and promote gigs around the world. Following is a snapshot of open opportunities in Australia currently available on the Sonicbids site:
Soundscape Festival 2011, Jan 8, 2011 in Hobart, TAS Australia – Deadline: July 30, 2011
Australian Blues Music Festival, Feb 10- 3, 2011 in Goulburn, NSW Australia – Deadline: July 31, 2010
Nannup Music Festival 2010, Mar 4-7, 2011 in Nannup, WA Australia
Rhythm and Vines 2010, Dec 29-31, 2010 in Gisborne, New Zealand – Deadline: October 29, 2010
In addition to forging relationships with promoters, record labels and associations in Australia, Sonicbids recently acquired ArtistData, the publishing platform used by musicians to update and publish their content across the web. This acquisition will enable Sonicbids to not only help musicians get gigs anywhere in the world but also increase their likelihood of success by utilizing ArtistData tools for marketing and promoting their shows to fans, social networks, concert databases, local newspapers and more.
“As a popular indie music hub, Australia has always been a key market for Sonicbids. Earlier this year we sponsored three Australian bands to play at South by Southwest in Austin, Texas, and we’re continuing to prove our dedication to our artists by creating new opportunities domestically and across the globe,” said Ford Englander, EVP, Promoter Network & International, Sonicbids. “We’re excited about these new partnerships and expect artists will be pleased with how we’re delivering on our mission to expand in Australia. In addition, the ArtistData integration provides members a better way to attract fans to their shows and in conjunction with Sonicbids existing features, will give artists everything they’re looking for in one spot.”
