SPOON - THE BEST BAND OF THE 2000's.
It's official, Spoon are the best band of the last decade. No-one voted. There was no competition. But of all the reviews of all the bands/albums collated over the last ten years (around 7,000) by US website Meta-Critic, Spoon's aggregate was considered the best. Radiohead, The White Stripes, Bob Dylan, Tom Waits & Sigur Ros were all up there but it was a little known band from Austin, Texas who came out on top. Read the full story HERE
It's not just the critics lavishing praise either, in the US, Spoon's latest album Transference crashed into the US top ten mainstream charts at No.4. In Australia, Spoon have proved an audience fave since the release of their 2004 album Kill the Moonlight and successive tours since that time (including the 2008 Big Day Out) has made them a strong live proposition.
