Daz Chandler - Daniel Kitson

August 25th 2008 05:47

Quite a good deal of out and out fun from hostess with the mostess; I like to call her Dazzle, but really it's Daz Chandler doing her usual wonderful best interviewing a comedian notorious for being difficult to interview.

Notice he (Daniel Kitson) is delightedly streaming out all sorts of insightful insights into himself as a natural chap rather than living up to the oft uber serious reports that suggest he hates being interviewed.

Great work!!

More of Daz Chandler's work can be heard by going to the podcasts at Sydney's 2SER FM, one of the greater sized and resourced community radio stations in New South Wales, Australia.

THE NARCISSIST

July 26th 2008 05:32
THE NARCISSIST previews from Thursday 28 August, opening Tuesday 2 September at the Drama Theatre, Sydney Opera House.

Sydney Theatre Company presents La Boite Theatre Company’s
The Narcissist
By Stephen Carleton

28 August – 4 October (Opens 2 September at 8pm)
Drama Theatre, Sydney Opera House

The Narcissist by Stephen Carleton, a deliciously scandalous comedy with a satirical sting in its tail, is at the Drama Theatre, Sydney Opera House from 28 August to 4 October 2008 as part of Sydney Theatre Company’s 2008 mainstage program.

Sharp-tongued political spin-doctor Xavier and his best friend, Bronwyn, interior design columnist with a leading Sunday paper, challenge each other to a duel – the winner being the first to bag a man by New Year’s Eve. When Bronwyn sets her sights on Xavier’s flatmate, the winner of ‘Barista of the Year’ for three year’s running whose new ambition is to get on to Big Brother, the game goes into overdrive. Xavier goes the retro route seeking to pick up with old flame Jesse. The only problem is that he’s now engaged to be married to homophobic litigation lawyer Y’landa.

A fast-paced plot, hurling of witty barbs and a clever mixture of political and social commentary ensured that The Narcissist was a huge hit during its first run at La Boite Theatre Company in Brisbane last year. It sold out, was extended, has a return season immediately prior to Sydney and has prompted La Boite Theatre Company to commission a sequel to the piece for 2009.

Stephen Carleton won Sydney Theatre Company’s 2005 Patrick White Playwrights’ Award for Constance Drinkwater and the Final Days of Somerset which was produced by Queensland Theatre Company for the 2006 Brisbane Festival, and is this year’s winner of the New Dramatists’ Award, a three-week playwrights’ residency in New York. He has also worked with Darwin Theatre Company, Knock-em-Down Theatre (which he formed with Gail Evans) and La Boite Theatre Company and his plays have been performed at the Festival of Darwin, Brisbane Pride Festival, the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and the Melbourne Midsumma Festival.

Sorry Ranga Day ‘08
August 10 th , 2008

It's time that the Australian population apologized for the indignity and degradation inflicted on red headed people and moved to a future based on mutual respect, mutual resolve and mutual responsibility. The Ginger Generation, Blood-Nut, Ginger Megs, Bluey, Carrot Top, Ginga, Freckly Arms...and Ranga. The hatred has to stop! Red-haired people across Australia have been unfavourably compared to orang-utans since Summer Heights High first aired across Australian television screens in 2007. 'Ranga' is now firmly entrenched in the vocabulary of ordinary people all over this country. And in a nationwide phenomenon, ordinary Australians have begun to taken up the call to say sorry to their red-headed brethren.
