Grammy Nominee Duffy Heads to Australia in January

It was earlier this year that the soulful voice of Welsh native Duffy was heard by the world with the release of her debut UK topping single “Mercy”, an unveiling of what was to come from this 24 year-old.
Her debut album Rockferry was released to critical acclaim reaching #1 in the UK, #4 in the US and #12 in Australia. It has already sold over 4 million copies globally and is platinum in 15 countries and gold in 14!
Rounding out an incredible year for Duffy, she was recently nominated for three Grammy Awards, Best New Artist, Best Female Pop Vocal (Mercy) and Best Pop Vocal Album (Rockferry).
Duffy has been announced to perform at V Festival 2009, however her Australian fans will receive an early treat as Duffy will be heading to our shores from January 29 to February 2 for a whirlwind promotional visit.

Universal Music and MySpace today announced that Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter Duffy will treat Australian MySpace fans to her first ever Aussie gig. The intimate and exclusive MySpace Secret Show will take place on Saturday January 31. Taking place at an undisclosed (secret) inner city Sydney location, this FREE all ages gig will showcase songs from Duffy’s latest release, Rockferry (Collectors Edition Double Album).
24 year-old, Welsh-born Duffy last year exploded onto the world stage with her smash hit single “Mercy” and sequentially her debut album Rockferry. Released to critical acclaim, Rockferry reached #1 in the UK, #4 in the US and #12 in Australia and has already sold over 4 million copies globally.
MySpace Secret Shows are exclusive concerts held throughout Australia featuring some of the biggest international and Australian artists. The only way MySpace users can find out specific details about this and future concerts is by adding THIS SITE as a 'friend' to their profile.
