To promote their brand new CD, The Ten Sopranos are touring Australia for the very first time throughout July and August. Featuring AustraliaÂ’s own Penny Pavlakis, The Ten Sopranos deliver a varied repertoire of Operatic favourites and popular songs including, Nessum Dorma, La Donna Mobile, The Brindisi, Amigos Para Sempre, New York New York, You Raise Me Up, Oh Danny Boy and many other favourites.
The tour starts this week in regional NSW and extends through Victoria, Western Australia and South Australia. Vocally exciting, artistically clever and visually breathtaking, the ten women with exquisite voices will take to the stage with a popular repertoire. The songs have been musically arranged to suit the versatility and diversity of the Ten SopranosÂ’ individual talents.

The Ten Sopranos includes some of the most gifted contemporary Australian singers directed by and featuring Penny Pavlakis, The Ten Sopranos also stars Joanna Powell, Grace Mason, Marissa Clare-Berzins, Nicole Pexiotto, Melanie McLeod, Elizabeth Farrant, Kylie Thomas, Rebecca Wallace and Mary Temple-Smith.
The Ten Sopranos new self titled CD is arranged and directed by Penny Pavlakis as a principle artist in major opera companies in Europe and Australia the award winning Pavlakis has worked with renowned artists including Baz Luhrmann, Max Lambert, Richard Bonynge and Dame Joan Sutherland. She brings a wealth of experience to The Ten Sopranos.
This cd is an affirmation that great music is timeless and the interpretation of song is no more than the communication of the soul, said Penny Pavlakis. The beauty and spirit of life is manifested though the songs of some of the greatest composers the world has ever known.
With the help of State Opera NSW, The Ovation Channel and Fuse a CD has been released featuring 10 popular musical tracks. The Operatic arias chosen for the recording are sung in their original language, while the contemporary songs on the album are performed with uniquely engaging vocal delivery. The CD involved some of the worlds greatest musical minds, Tommy Tycho at the orchestra helm, and engineering by Richard Lush from Abbey Road Studios. It was recorded at the world famous Studio 301 and songs on the CD include Aye Calypso, The Prayer, La Donne E Mobile, Speak Softly Love and Oh Danny Boy.
