Join one of Australia’s greatest leading ladies of musical theatre in a candid and humorous journey though a life in show biz. Playing at Riverside Theatres on Tuesday 12 August will be the final Sydney performance of TONI LAMOND: TIMES OF MY LIFE.

Born into a vaudeville family, Toni Lamond grew up performing on the famed Tivoli circuit graduating to leads in JC Williamson musicals such as The Pyjama Game. With the birth of television she became a household name opposite Graham Kennedy on In Melbourne Tonight.

When I first stepped on stage at age 7, who knew I was stepping into theatrical history, and I’m still here to tell the story,” said Toni. “It's the show I’ve wanted to do for years. It has music, laughter, and drama to spare, and it’s all true!”

Candid, humours and inspirational, this is the remarkable story of a remarkable woman. As Toni Lamond turns back time she reveals a deeply honest, gifted, brave, funny but ultimately vulnerable artist.

Toni Lamond has appeared on stage in both Australia and the United States. Playing Babe Williams in The Pyjama Game was Toni’s first stint as a leading lady in musical theatre. In the 1960’s Toni was a regular on In Melbourne Tonight and was the first woman in the world to host her own Tonight Show. In 1975 Toni gained her status as a theatre legend through her role as Mama Rose in the production of Gypsy. In the USA during the 1970’s, Toni appeared on stage and on television in productions such as Starsky And Hutch, The Bob Newhart Show, Murder She Wrote and Days of Our Lives.

“Lamond’s performance is an age-defying celebration of the joy of live entertainment. Her comic timing is second to none. Audiovisual highlights are woven skilfully into the show…remarkable footage. Even the pain is presented with panache.” - Sydney Morning Herald
